Southeast Asia or Southeastern Asia is a sub region of Asia, consisting of the countries that are geographically south of China, east of India and north of Australia, but excludes the nation of New Guinea. The region is predominately tropical in nature and lies near the intersection of geological plates, with heavy seismic and volcanic activity. It is a culturally diverse region with evidence suggestion continuous human habitation for the past 45,000 years.
